A Bird’s Eye View

From the mountains and ridges surrounding town, the blue and turquoise waters of the Elk can be seen serenely snaking through the valley. Visibility increases everyday, revealing the contours of the river bottom and showing off beautiful rounded stones on the banks. The Elk is currently flowing at 51m³/s. Locals and tourists alike are taking advantage of the mellower flow rates to cool off and float down the river. There’s good people watching from the boat launch. July has come and gone, but the fishing just gets better.

We’re looking at cooler temps heading into the weekend which should be great news for the anglers!
