The Elk river conditions are very good. With the warm winter and the recent rains has opened much of the river. Easy wading and lots of access with low snow levels. Some big Cutts taking big stone fly dries in runs. Some fish being taken on Early Winter Stone Dries in small sizes.
Nymph fishing winter stone fly nymphs in Black and Copper colors sizes 14,16 has been excellent in some good winter runs. Streamer fishing has also been a big success with Olive/White Streamers, Black Muddy Buddies, all dead drifted through deep runs.
Fishing large streamers for big Bull Trout and Cutthroat is also very good.
Enjoy the warm afternoons Fishing the Elk!
