March 20, 2019 River Report

Spring has arrived in the Elk Valley and warm temperatures are melting the ice on the Elk River. At this time, it is not recommended for wade fishing as there are soft ice sheets along the banks. Give it a few more days.

There is some water open in the Sparwood area with good fishing on Stone Nymphs and San Juan Worms.

If the weather prevails, we should be able to dry fly fish with Winter Stone Flies next week.

If you need flies, gear, fly tying materials, come into the shop and we can help you out. We also have a big Spring Sale on right now!
