Looking at the river it’s hard to believe it’s only mid-June. It may be the best opening day in years! Unlike the turbidity that plagued us into late July last year, anglers will be happy to find clear waters on the Elk when they grab their rods and head out this weekend. You’ve got to see it for yourself to believe it. Big stoneflies and drakes were making it happen out there today. We have had mostly smoke-free skies thus far and some rain, which is a welcome mix in between warm days.
As we’re shutting down the shop today we’re hearing positive reports coming back from those who were able to get out on the water so far. We are excited to welcome our clients into town and see some familiar faces. Here’s to an excellent summer on the river!
