July 12, 2016 River Report

The Elk is running clear and is at a normal flow for this time of year, however, it is dropping every day. We are seeing lots of hatches such as large Grey/Green Drakes, PMDs, the odd Stonefly, and the occasional ant. Fishing is hot and the Cutthroat are looking up and eating but are more active in the afternoon rather than the morning.

Dries for the Elk: GT PMD, Grey Wulff, GT Adams, Ext Body Drake (grey or green), Tan Fat Albert Red Thread, Black Fat Albert, Speckled Royal PMX.

Nymphs: BTB Hunchback Green Drake, GB Bird of Prey Tan, RL Golden Stone.

Streamers: Muddy Buddy White, Circus Peanut Olive, Wilson’s Articulated Sparkle Minnow, and Tan/White Double Bunnies.

Come into the shop for more info or give us a call.

Hope to hear from you soon!
